Our view of the service

We carried out this short notice announced on-site assessment on 20 November 2024. We found the practice had not met all regulations. Recruitment procedures did not reflect current legislation and there was a lack of oversight of staff training. Improvements were required to the system for managing the risk associated with the carrying out of the regulated activities. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. However, improvements were required to the detail recorded in dental care records. Infection control procedures were in place and reflected national guidance. Southbrook Dental Practice is in Bradford and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice had 2 treatment rooms, but only 1 was in use. During the assessment we spoke with the dentist and 2 dental nurses. The provider was not complying with 2 regulations. Full details of the regulations the provider was not meeting are within the assessment findings below. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
