Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site, announced assessment on 4 October 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. Recruitment procedures broadly reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. The practice is in Shepherds Bush, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice had a small step at the entrance, and they did not have a ramp. The practice had processes in place to communicate this to patients prior to their appointments. Car parking spaces are available near the practice. The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentist 1 dental nurse and the practice manager.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our onsite assessment, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We did not receive feedback from patients. On the day of our assessment, the practice had no patients, and we were unable to gather direct feedback. We were shown 11 patient feedback gathered by the provider. This provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included, ‘staff excellent’, ‘staff always friendly’, ‘treatment is outstanding’ and ‘dentist is always welcoming and very good with the children’. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
