During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 26 July 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks, and the recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. The practice is in Northwood, in the London Borough of Hillingdon, and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included the principal dentist, 1 qualified dental nurse, and a receptionist, who was also registered as a dental nurse. The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with all members of the dental team.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people using the service and all three members of staff.

People said they had been told about the treatments available and the costs involved, so they could make an informed choice. They told us the staff were friendly and helpful and treated them with respect. We spoke with three people and all expressed satisfaction with the care and treatment they received.

Comments from the annual surveys included 'pleasant venue, welcome reception, helpful literature' and 'I find Dr Shah very patient and understanding'. Testimonials had also been completed and comments included, 'Someone I can trust to act in my best interest at all times. All advice given with a courteous smile', 'the dene dental practice provides first class dental treatment and advice in a comfortable, relaxing environment' and 'costs explained, choices given'.

People said they were given a treatment plan and the number of appointments required to complete the treatment were included. People told us they could get appointments to suit them and received reminders for attending appointments. People confirmed the practice was always clean and tidy. People said they would feel confident to raise any concerns they might have and that they would be addressed.
