During a routine inspection
Care and treatment was generally planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. However there was one situation in which Westminster Homecare Limited (Buckinghamshire) were providing some care and support with another agency. There was clearly a lack of accountability and co-ordination between the two providers. Immediate action was taken and by the second day of our visit appropriate measures were in place to ensure staff were clear of their responsibilities and accountability.
Staff were provided with appropriate training to give them the knowledge and skills to undertake their roles competently. Staff were provided with an annual appraisal of their work and regular supervision.
People we spoke with were happy with the care and support they received. Comments included ''I feel Mum's care is excellent...we get a consistent service and the carers are superb, I really can't fault them.'' ''They are all very good. We are perfectly happy, no problems whatsoever. We get a consistent service with regular carers and have built up a relationship with them...they are like family.
