Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must within 14 working days of this condition taking effect advise the Care Quality Commission of what steps they intend to undertake and implement to ensure there is a strong leadership and oversight arrangements at Claremont. By 28th July 2023 the Provider must:
• Carry out a review of care plans and risk assessments to ensure these are up to date and reflect the individual needs of the service users.
• Carry out a review of the process and guidance available to ensure that the service and all staff comply with the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
• Carry out a review of the process for the deployment of sufficient, trained staff in line with people’s needs.
• Carry out a review of the governance and risk management processes to ensure systems are in place to assess, monitor and improve the quality of the service and that they are effective.
Following the review, the Provider must provide the Care Quality Commission on the last Friday of every calendar month, with monthly assurance reports of any action identified by the audit, the person responsible for carrying out any actions identified and time scales for completion of all actions.
The monthly assurance reports must include the data, audit and outcomes for the following:
1. Review of care plans and risk assessments to ensure these are up to date and reflect the individual needs of the service users.
2. An audit of the compliance with the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
3. The audit must include a review of staffing levels for the month and detail where121 funded hours have not been achieved. This should include systems and mitigating actions to ensure there are sufficient staff on duty who are trained in the administration of Buccal.
4. An action plan with lead responsibility and timescales to implement an effective audit and monitoring system. This should include the governance and control measures in place to ensure continuous oversight and improvement.
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require nursing care at Claremont.
The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 4 service users at Claremont.
