Date of the assessment 5 November 2024 to 19 November 2024. Prestbury Care Home is a care home with nursing. There were 68 people using the service at the time of our assessment. This assessment was prompted by a review of information we held about the service. We assessed a total of 59 evidence categories from the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions. The scores for these have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection. Following this assessment the overall rating for this service had been assessed as good. We found areas of good practice, and some areas of improvement required. The provider had systems in place to record and then analysis accidents and incidents. This included reporting events to the local authority and CQC where appropriate. However, we identified not all events reportable to CQC had been submitted. The manager was embedding new systems to ensure where concerns were identified and actions taken, all were completed. This was following identifying improvements were required in these areas . Systems were in place to monitor the safety of the home environment, checks and safety certificates were in place. We identified some actions from a previous fire assessment were outstanding and during the assessment the manager confirmed the required work was taking place. Safe recruitment processes were in place, staff completed an induction and ongoing training in their role. Meetings and supervision took place, the manager had identified this being an area of improvement they were currently undertaking. The manager was undertaking improvements on oversight of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) following the local authority identifying improvements were required in this area. Staff felt valued and supported in their role, feedback included that Prestbury Care Home was good place to work.
