We had undertaken a comprehensive inspection under our previous methodology of Pitsmoor Dental Health Centre on 6 March 2024 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations 12 and 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We undertook a follow up on site focused assessment on 24 June 2024. This assessment was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. At the time of our assessment, we found that patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Pitsmoor Dental Health Centre is in Sheffield and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 2 dentists, 6 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 1 practice manager and 3 receptionists. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 3 dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. The practice is open: Monday to Thursday 9am – 5.30pm and Friday 9am – 2pm.
