During a routine inspection
All of the people who used the service had dementia. We therefore spent some time observing the care that they received. We saw that staff treated people with respect and were kind and caring. The people and relative we spoke with were happy with the care that was received. One person said, 'The care is good, I have never had a problem.' Another person said, 'The staff are very nice and kind.' A relative told us, 'I am very happy with the care, I have no issues at all.'
People's individual needs had been assessed. However, the service was not always following the provider's policies and procedures to ensure that risks to people's safety were being managed effectively.
The communal areas of the service were clean. However, some people's bedding and equipment that they used was unclean.
People received their medication when they needed it.
