We found this practice was not providing well-led care in accordance with the relevant regulation. The provider had made significant improvements, however a number of the improvements required remained outstanding which meant they had not fully responded to the regulatory breach we found at our inspection on 11 October 2023.

At the assessment on 1 August 2024, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations: Local rules were reviewed to ensure they were up to date and remained effective. Shortfalls highlighted in the most recent 3 yearly cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) physics test had been addressed. A hearing loop was available for patients who were hearing aid wearers. The accident book was General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) compliant. We noted areas that remained outstanding which included: Evidence of the oversight of the standard of cleaning was not available. NHS prescriptions were not monitored to prevent fraudulent misuse. Cone-beam computed tomography monthly quality assurance tests, known as phantom tests, were due on 21 July 2024. We were told these had not been carried out. Records of emergency lighting monthly tests were not kept. The current infection prevention and control audit was due to be carried out in April 2024. Shortfalls highlighted in the most recent infection prevention and control audit remained outstanding. Improvements could be made to implement audits for prescribing of antibiotic medicines taking into account the guidance provided by the College of General Dentistry
