During a routine inspection
We observed two consultations and looked at four treatment plans. We saw patients were provided with treatment options and given time to make a decision. Those we spoke with told us they were happy with the practice. One said, 'They're very gentle and very good at their jobs'.
Staff had been trained in safeguarding. We spoke with seven members of staff who demonstrated a good understanding of safeguarding principles and the procedures for reporting abuse.
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. Patients were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment. Best practice guidance on the sterilisation of instruments was followed and staff were appropriately trained.
There were effective recruitment processes in place. We looked at three staff files and saw appropriate checks were undertaken before most staff began work.
The provider used surveys and verbal feedback to seek the views of people using the service. Improvements were made as a result. Records showed there were effective systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of service that patients received.
