During a routine inspection
Pennypot Dental practice had systems in place to gain and review consent from the people who used the service. People told us that they were always given enough time to consider the dental treatment offered to them. One person told us 'Anything I need doing is explained to me.' Another said 'the dentist is very understanding; I am never rushed to make a decision and can change my mind if I want to.' People who used the service were satisfied that their dental needs were met.
People were confident that there were good standards of hygiene at the practice. One person told us 'When I go to the dentist it is always spotless and smells like a dentist's should.'
All aspects of the day to day running of the practice was monitored. Although this had been reviewed and updated, it was not at regular intervals. The provider told us that regular audits and risk assessments would be carried out in future to ensure that the practice could evidence and deliver a consistent quality service and make any improvements where necessary.
