During a routine inspection
During our visit to two of the shared accommodation locations, we observed staff offering choice to people who used the service. This included the food they wanted to eat, and what they wanted to do during the day. As an example during 2013 people who used the service chose to go on holiday together rather than individually. Each person who used the service had a support plan in place. We saw evidence that staff involved people who used the service in the development and review of their care files. There were enough staff to make sure people who used the service were able to do the activities they wanted to do. Regular quality monitoring visits were completed by the provider and where necessary actions completed as a result. The records we saw had been completed accurately. We spoke to two people who used the service. They told us 'I like it here, the staff help me when I need it and I am more independent here'. Another person told us 'I like going to my day centre and helping at around the home. The staff are really good and support me, especially in cooking'.
