Caring

Good

Updated 21 January 2025

People received individualised care and support from staff who knew them well. Support plans were informative and provided staff with detailed information on people’s likes, dislikes, personal preferences, care needs and medical history. This enabled staff to support people in the way they wished to be supported; to live full and active lives; develop their independent living skills and maintain relationships with friends and families.

We are all able to have a say in what happens here.” People chose how they spent their time and were supported by staff to take part in activities and pursue their interests. Relatives spoke positively about the care and support people received and told us they were actively involved in the planning and development of their loved one’s care and support.

Staff told us how they spent time with people and got to know about their lives and what was important to them. Staff described how they took a positive approach in encouraging people to be as independent as possible whilst recognising when people needed additional assistance. Staff told us how they supported people to go shopping, out for meals and/or take part in activities in which they had expressed an interest.

People’s support plans contained clear information about what each person could do for themselves and described any areas where people required some additional support or guidance.
