Tushmore Lane provides residential care and support to people within a residential setting in Crawley. The service provides support to people living with learning disabilities. We carried out our on-site assessment on 13 December 2023, assessment activity started on 12 December 2023 and ended on 15 December 2023. We looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes. Systems were in place to safeguard people from abuse. Staff had a clear understanding of their responsibilities under safeguarding, while the provider understood their regulatory responsibilities. People were involved the management of risk to their care and support, while the provider assessed risks to peoples and put guidance and actions in place to mitigate these. People were supported by sufficient numbers of staff who had received the appropriate training to meet peoples needs. People were supported by kind and caring staff. Staff knew their needs well and supported them safely and effectively. People were involved in their care planning and systems were in place to seek their views and determine what outcomes they wished to see in their support. Staff respected people’s choices and supported them to make decisions. The provider’s systems were effective in supporting people’s diverse needs and protecting their rights.
