During a routine inspection
Of the 44 current locations, we found that three were separate locations which were registered (or were in the process of registering) separately, so these three services were outside the scope of this inspection. Of the 41 remaining locations, five GP locations had not been inspected this year, nor had three other services.
This inspection focused on the remaining locations, 12 of which had been fully or partly inspected during inspections of the Surrey hospitals in which they were based. The provider's prison services were subject to inspection by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Prisons and subject to a different schedule. We noted the comments HMI Prisons made about the provider's healthcare provision for two prisons inspected in 2013/14.
We found that VH Doctors had appropriate structures in place to support staff working across the various locations and comprehensive quality assurance procedures were used to monitor service delivery. Where non-compliance with the regulations had been identified, this had been escalated to the highest level and the provider was actively addressing the issues.
