Our view of the service

Date of Assessment 6 January to 30th January 2024 Apex Healthcare Services LTD (Domiciliary care) provides care and support to people living in their own homes. The service provides support to older people, people living with dementia and people with a physical disability. We carried out an off site assessment on 6 January 2024. We looked at 8 quality statements; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Learning culture; Safe systems, pathways and transitions; Safeguarding; Safe environments; Infection control and Medicines optimisation. Improvements had been made and people told us they felt safe being cared for by staff. There was a open and transparent culture of reflective practice and continuous learning amongst staff. Staff worked in partnership with people to help safeguard them from all types of risk or abuse. Staff worked in a person centred way to help people understand and manage risks to enable them to do what was important to them. Staff worked to ensure people's environments, and the equipment they used to support people, were safe. There were enough, consistent staff to support people safely. People were protected from the risk of getting an infection and medicines were managed safely.

People's experience of this service

People told us they felt safe, knew staff well and felt confident to raise any concerns. People felt staff who helped them to take positive risks to live independently, protected them from the risk of infection and safely helped them to manage their medicines.
