At the time of our visit there were six people living at the home. One person was out for the day and the other people were out throughout the day attending various activities in the community. During our visit we spent time observing how staff interacted with people using the service. We saw people making their choices known to staff and staff responding appropriately. One person living at the home told us that he liked living at the home because the staff "don't rush me". A parent of a person living at the home told us they were "so happy" with the home and felt welcome to drop in at any time. They also said the main carer for their daughter was "absolutely fabulous".
We spoke to staff about the training they received and we reviewed some of the documents relating to training. Staff told us they received the right kind of training to do their job and they felt supported by their managers at the home.
We looked at the premises and found the shower room had mould on the ceiling. We also saw the handrail and trellis fencing in the garden was loose and broken in places.
