During a routine inspection
We asked people if they had consented to their care and suport, for example, whether staff asked permission before they carried out care tasks. We were told staff did get people's consent, and responses to this question included "They'd never do anything against my will." People told us they were given choices in their daily lives, and that staff respected those choices.
We received very positive comments on the meals at Willowmead and residents described the food as "Delicious" and "Always very good."
We reviewed the safeguarding outcome and asked residents if they felt safe living at this home. Those who were able to answer this question said they did feel safe, and comments included "Yes, very safe."
We asked people if they had any complaints about the service and none did. Comments from residents included "In the 11 years I've been here I've never had a complaint" and "Everything is very satisfactory."
We also reviewed recruitment records and found more work was needed to ensure all the records required under Schedule 3 of the regulations were on file for each staff member. However, residents commented positively on the staff and remarks included "They are very pleasant. Everyone is most obliging" and "Very nice; they really are."
