During a routine inspection
We found that Sevacare Portsmouth made sure that people who used their service had information about the care and support they would receive. We saw that people had opportunities to discuss their preferences about how they wanted their care delivered.
People's needs were assessed and the support plans reflected their wishes and preferences. We saw that people gave their consent to the support plan.
People we spoke with told us that they "felt safe with their carers" and that they "trust them in my house."
Checks were made on prospective care workers to make sure they were suitable people to be employed. New care workers had full induction training which included safeguarding training. Care workers received regular supervision during their probationary period and spot checks were made on staff to ensure that the care was being delivered in line with people's care plans.
Sevacare Portsmouth had a national system of policies and procedures to underpin the delivery of the service. Quality checks were carried out at national and local branch level to monitor and measure the quality of the service and care. People and their relatives views were being sought to contribute to the delivery of the service. People told us that they 'couldn't ask for anything more.'
