During a routine inspection
We spoke with five people that used the service. One person told us, "I'm very, very happy with everything they (staff) do for me, I wouldn't want to change anything". Another person said, "I feel safe and I trust them my support workers".
We found that each person using the service had a care (support) plan in place and from speaking with the manager and staff it was demonstrated that they had a good knowledge and understanding of people's needs and how best to meet those needs.
We received positive feedback from local commissioners of services and were advised that the manager and staff of the service were co-operative and helpful.
Staff were provided with appropriate training opportunities and received regular supervision and appraisals. However some training listed including the mental capacity act, infection control and first aid was much more inconsistent. We have said that the provider may wish to review this.
We saw that there were effective systems in place to allow the monitoring and improvement of service delivery. There was a complaints procedure in place and any concerns were followed up appropriately.
