During a routine inspection
We found that the provider was meeting the required standard for their approach to safeguarding the wellbeing of people who used the service and supported workers in the role through regular supervision of their work and training.
However we found the provider was not meeting the requirements in the following areas.
People who used the service had not had their mental capacity formally assessed and their risk assessments contained limited and out of date information. However, all of the people we spoke with told us they felt safe when the care workers were in the home and also they were knowledgeable about their needs. One person we spoke with told us, "I feel safe in my own home; the majority of the staff are excellent."
We saw that whilst recruitment of new staff was taking place there was an expectation that office staff would cover shifts at weekends, sometimes resulting in them working a seven day week. One staff member we spoke with told us, 'I am currently working seven days a week in two roles.'
The provider did not have adequate systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service that people received. Some of the records we looked at were incomplete and the results of quality surveys could not be produced when asked.
