During a routine inspection
We observed that staff interacted with people in a friendly, respectful and professional manner and were attentive to people's needs. Staff had received appropriate training to ensure that they had the skills necessary to support people safely and in a person-centred way.
People were supported by staff to safely store and administer the medication they required whist they were using the service. Staff we spoke with had a good understanding of people's individual medical conditions and the medicines they used to manage them.
An appropriate safeguarding policy was in place which guided staff if they suspected that someone might be being abused. Staff were aware of their responsibilities with regard to safeguarding vulnerable young adults.
We saw evidence that systems had been put into place to ensure the ongoing quality and safe provision of the service. This included medication audits, maintenance checks and regular monitoring of risks to health and safety.
