During a routine inspection
At Delight Care we found a programme of care that supported people with their needs both within and outside their home environment. This care programme ensured that people who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse.
Whilst we concluded that staff were competent to carry out their roles, and received support through supervision and appraisals, we noted that formal documented supervision had not been completed for some staff over a period of six months, following a change of service provider. However we observed that a new manager that had come into post in the week of the inspection, planned to review the management arrangements, including the provision of supervision.
We found that people who used the service and staff fed back information about changes required to the care needs identified and these were acted on. In addition there was a system in place to assess minor complaints and more serious incidents that was reviewed regularly by the provider's Board and their partner organisation.
