Date of assessment: 13 November to 4 December 2024. Bridge House Care Home is a residential home which provides personal care for a maximum of 66 people. The home supports older people living with dementia and nursing needs. At the time of the assessment there was 63 people living at the home. We carried out 3 site visits. The last rating for this home was requires improvement (published 4 May 2023). At this assessment we found significant improvements had been made. People were protected from abuse and kept safe. People's needs were assessed, and care was planned and delivered by staff who were trained. Staff had good knowledge about people's care and support needs. We observed enough staff on shift to meet people's needs. People received their medicines as prescribed. We received positive feedback about what the home offered everyone. People had access to a wide range of activities and facilities to enjoy. The home was well maintained and clean. People were treated with kindness and compassion by a caring staff team. People’s care records outlined their needs, wishes and preferences. The home had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. The home received positive feedback from partners and health professionals about them working collaboratively. Referrals were made where needed. The management team had a clear vision for the home, there was an emphasis on making the home feel like a home for people and providing reassurance to relatives. The management team had effective quality assurance tools in in place to identify and drive improvements.
