During a routine inspection
Information was available for staff to follow which enabled them to meet people's needs. When we spoke with people who used the service and their relatives they told us, 'The care staff are brilliant, they are so kind and caring I don't know what I'd do without them' and 'They make sure the same carers attend to my mum and she finds this reassuring.'
Staff had received training about how to recognise and report any abuse they may witness or become aware of. People we spoke with told us they felt safe and the carers could be trusted. Comments included, 'I feel my mum's in safe hands' and 'I would approach the office staff if I had any concerns."
Appropriate recruitment checks were undertaken before staff started working for the agency. This ensured people who used the service were not exposed to staff who should not be working with vulnerable people. People told us they were happy with the staff. Comments included, 'The staff are really nice and polite and always smart', 'They always turn up on time and stay for the time I need them."
