During a routine inspection
People were treated with respect and had their dignity maintained. Comments from people using the service included "they don't rush you and they are very courteous", "[staff are] very polite" and 'they are nice girls'.
Each person's care needs were recorded in a care plan which was updated when necessary. People receiving care and support and, where appropriate, their relatives, could contribute to discussions about the best ways for identified needs to be met.
The service had a safeguarding policy in place which was understood by staff. All the people using the service who we spoke with told us they felt safe with the people visiting them. Comments included "I have a laugh with them" and "I have nothing bad to say [about the staff]".
Staff were subject to appropriate vetting during recruitment. This helped to minimise the risk of employing unsuitable staff.
There were a variety of quality audit systems in place to assist in identifying any areas of the service which could be improved.
