All Inspections

2 December 2013

During a routine inspection

During this visit we were not able to talk with any of the people using the service. This was due to the nature of their crisis and the fact that no new referrals had been made whilst we were there. We did look at some of the comments that people had made in the satisfaction surveys that were given to them following their discharge from the service. Comments made included; 'The support received was extremely helpful. Everybody was great, very grateful' and 'It was life-saving support at a very difficult time'.

Care records contained enough information to show how people were to be supported and cared for.

We saw that staff worked closely with other agencies so that people's needs were effectively met. We were also made aware of the systems that were in place to make sure information was passed on when a person's care was transferred to another service.

We saw that appropriate arrangements were in place to help safeguard people from abuse. Staff had received training in the protection of vulnerable adults and knew what to do if an allegation of abuse was made to them or if they suspected that abuse had occurred.

Arrangements were in place to ensure that people using the service were cared for and supported by skilled and experienced staff.

A satisfactory system was in place for checking the quality of care and the facilities that the service provided.
