Equity in experiences and outcomes
People told us they were supported by a team of people who worked around them to support their wellbeing. We asked one person about living at Cherry Tree Care Centre and they replied, "The staff are lovely anything you ask for they give you, they are really nice. I can't knock anything, I can't praise them enough." People told us their rights and choices were upheld and their friends and families were warmly welcomed at the service.
The staff team was diverse and told us they all felt supported. Teamwork was positive and the service openly engaged with their local community. A visiting advocate told us, "People are treated equally and fairly, I have never seen anything that has raised concerns." A commissioner we spoke with told us how the provider was arranging a celebration for Diwali in November across multiple homes to bring everyone together.
The service had policies and procedures which supported it's focus on ensuring everyone was supported to be free from discrimination. The service listened to feedback and views from everyone. Managers would challenge any unfair bias or lack of access to service as it had a culture of promoting equity for all.
