During a themed inspection looking at Offender Healthcare
People had mixed views about the service they received. Two people said they did not agree with their medicines management in terms of access to the medicines they said they needed. Another person said their medicines programme of planned withdrawal was discussed with them fully and agreed with them.
Staff were described by people as polite, respectful and helpful. People said staff were always available and receptive when they asked for help.
We saw people's needs were assessed using specific alcohol and drug withdrawal monitoring tools. Each person had a care and treatment plan.
WDP HMP Woodhill had a staff rota of the GP, Consultant Psychiatrist, Registered Mental Nurses (RMNs) and health care assistants. There was a separate team for providing psychological and social support.
WDP HMP Woodhill maintained a record of any complaints made and whether they were upheld or resolved.
