During a routine inspection
We found before treatment was carried out people's treatment plans were discussed with them. We saw in the five records we inspected, people's treatment was discussed and documented at each visit.
We spoke with four people who attended for appointments. They all told us their treatment was explained and discussed with them and their medical history was always checked and updated if things changed. People told us when the dental technician carried out any treatment he discussed the options with them and involved them in their care. One person told us: 'He tells me what's going on in a way I understand'.
We found the practice to be clean with clear systems in place to prevent the spread of infection.
The practice manager explained the robust vetting procedure prior to employment at the practice. However, she stated no staff had recruited for over 12 months.
We saw a notice displayed in the waiting area, informing people what to do if they had a complaint. The practice manager said there had been no complaints made to the practice. People we spoke with said they were happy with the service and we saw many complimentary thank-you cards on display.
