During an inspection in response to concerns
We found people who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevented abuse from happening.
There were effective recruitment and selection processes in place and appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work.
There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. Peoples' relatives did express concern about the number of staff on duty at night. However, we saw evidence that the manager was reviewing the ratio of staff at night to make sure people's needs were met and they were kept safe.
The staff we spoke with confirmed they received training and support to enable them to meet the needs of the people who used the service.
The provider had a system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received. People we spoke with told us they had meetings and could raise concerns with the manager or staff and these would be acted upon. They said they were asked to complete feedback questionnaires.
