During an inspection in response to concerns
We spoke with seven people who used the service and/or their relative. People told us they were happy with the care provided and were involved with their care and support needs. Comments included:
'I haven't been here long, but already they know that I like a certain breakfast every day and they have got it for me. Full marks to the chef.'
'I filled in a form about me; they want to talk to you about you.'
'I've been made to feel very welcome, the staff and management are keen' and 'I feel safe now.'
'I have peace of mind now my relative (person's name) is being cared for here. I have lots of contact with the home, they keep me updated.'
There were effective systems in place to make sure the home was clean and properly maintained. We found all areas to be very clean and well appointed. People who used the service were very complimentary about the cleanliness of the home. Comments we received included:
'Everything is beautiful, it really is.'
'The home is very clean, no complaints at all.'
Overall, we found the Provider had appropriate arrangements in place to manage medicines. We suggested some ways the records could be improved upon.
There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. People who used the service or their relatives spoke highly of the staff. One person said, 'I think there are plenty of staff, they are always there when you need them.'
People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. Staff spoke highly of their training and said it had equipped them well for their role. They said they received good support from the management team to enable them to do their job well.
There were quality monitoring programmes in place, which included people giving feedback about their care and support. This provided an overview of the quality of the service's provided.
