During a routine inspection

The agency provided care and support to five people who lived in supported living bungalows and two people who lived in flats in the community.

We spent some time at one person's house and talked with staff about how they supported people. We saw staff were skilled at understanding people's individual needs, and helped them to lead active lifestyles.

We talked with two relatives. They had positive comments about the service. One relative told us, 'It's a very good service. They seem really happy and they look after my relative as well as I could.'

The agency made sure there was sufficient staff available to meet people's individual needs and support them with their preferred activities. The person we spoke with said they 'liked' the staff and we saw staff were trained and experienced to support people.

We saw the provider checked the quality of the service, and involved people and their relatives in reviews about the care service. People were protected from the risks of unsafe or inappropriate treatment because records were kept up to date and were confidentially stored.

During a routine inspection

We visited two people who received care in their own homes. One person told us their care workers 'treat me nice' and that they helped them to make a cup of tea. The other person told us that they liked their care worker because they 'help us'. They explained how they go out for rides in the car and go out for tea and that they were happy when they played records in their room.

We spoke to two relatives. One relative said the care was 'great, brilliant' and their relative was 'well looked after'. They told us that their relative was more settled and in a routine since coming to live at Woodside Close. Another relative said the care was 'second to none'. They told us that staff knew their relatives' needs that they were involved in reviews of their care and staff listened to what they said and kept them informed.

The provider demonstrated that it was aware of it's responsibilities to respond to any allegation of abuse or potential abuse. We found that staff were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. The provider also had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
