During a routine inspection
Most of the feedback we received from patients about their overall experience of the CAMHS was positive. Information was available to help them understand what to expect from the service and we were told that typically, the CAMHS had lived up to their expectations.
The patients we spoke with confirmed they understood the care and treatment options available to them and most of the time they felt involved in making decisions. Patients' with eating disorders were monitored to protect them from the risks of inadequate nutrition. One patient said, "I get help for my condition and eating disorder."
We heard some concerns about staffing levels although both patients and staff told us there had been recent improvements because more staff had been recruited.
Overall, we found that the provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of the services provided.
