During a themed inspection looking at Offender Healthcare
Assessment and screening was undertaken and this was effective in ensuring that patients accessed the appropriate type of support. The provider was proactive in health promotion and relevant information sharing with patients.
Staff were appropriately supervised and training was well organised and consistently delivered. Staff reported feeling well supported in their roles.
There were comprehensive systems in place for quality assurance across the services provided, the subcontracted services, and within the wider cluster of prisons the provider oversaw. This meant that patients, staff and senior management were all involved in the monitoring and improvement of the service on an ongoing basis.
There was a functional complaints system used within the service that patients were able to access easily. All the documentation and records we saw were factual, appropriate and detailed. Paperwork and digital information were stored safely and securely.
