During a routine inspection
When we visited St Andrew's Place we spoke with three patients, two staff, the unit manager, the on site Occupational Therapist and Clinical Psychologist. We looked round the premises and we looked at documentary evidence for four of the 'Essential Standards for Safety and Equality' outcomes. We also received copies of the provider's organisation 'Provider Compliance Assessments' and one specific to the unit.
Patients told us they were happy with the way they had been treated. One patient said, 'I get round the clock support, staff keep 'lifting' me and make me feel better.' Another patient said, 'It's okay here, the staff are good.'
We found there were some shortfalls with the premises, that staff were properly recruited and that the unit maintained quality monitoring systems.
