During an inspection in response to concerns
We spoke with eight people who used the service. They all reported they were happy with the care they received at Victoria Road. Comments from people included, "It is better than hospital. Here I can meditate. I couldn't do that in hospital. Whereas here I am supported in my Buddhist faith. It has helped me with my recovery so much." and 'I've been here 17 years and was one of the first to move in. It's always been a good place to be.'
We found that people were cared for in accordance with their needs because risk assessments were carried out and care plans developed to manage risks.
People were protected against the risks associated with medicines because the provider had appropriate arrangements in place to manage medicines. However staff told us that for some months there has been a lack of regular pharmacist oversight and only recently had this improved.
The people we spoke with reported that they were satisfied with the service provided, and had not had a reason to make a complaint.
