During a routine inspection
All patients were detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA). The hospital had 72 beds in six wards, however on the day of the inspection, only two wards were in operation.
We saw care plans were detailed and had been reviewed as required.
We found appropriate systems in place to ensure patient's were appropriately safeguarded.
Patients were provided with appropriate information about the service and their care.
We found a robust recruitment and selection system in place, which demonstrated staff were safely and effectively employed.
Recovery First had robust systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service provided.
Staff were seen engaging well with patients and were responsive to their needs. We observed a friendly but professional rapport between staff and patients. One patient commented: "The staff are alright".
