Our view of the service
Kingston House provides regulated activity of Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care for up to 46 people. The service provides support to people over 65 years, people living with dementia people with physical disability. At the time of our assessment there were 32 people using the service. We carried out a site visit at the service on 23 August 2024. Since the last assessment in March 2024 the provider had taken action to address the breach of Regulation 17 (good governance) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. Governance systems were now effective in assessing, monitoring and mitigating risks and improving the quality and safety of the service. Risk assessments were accurate and contained detailed information about the actions staff should take to keep people safe. The home was clean and staff followed infection prevention and control procedures. Audits identified improvements needed and action was taken to keep people safe from harm.
