We assessed 2 quality statements in the Safe key question. The provider had improved the way risks to people were identified and mitigated and the systems for infection prevention and control. The service was no longer in breach of regulations.

Involving people to manage risks
People and their relatives were involved in reviewing their risk management plans to help keep them safe. People told us staff followed these plans and said they felt safe.
Staff demonstrated a good understanding people’s risk management plans and the support they needed to stay safe. Staff said they felt risks were well managed in the service. The registered manager told us action was taken following the last inspection to review risk assessments and add more information for staff where needed. They had also introduced a system to review plans each month to ensure they remained up to date. The management team were completing audits of the assessments to ensure all relevant actions had been completed.
We observed people being supported by staff who knew them well and took action to ensure people remained safe. Staff followed the actions set out in people's risk management plans.
People had risk assessments and risk management plans, which set out the support they needed to stay safe. The plans had been regularly reviewed with people and their relatives to ensure the measures in place were up to date.

Infection prevention and control
People told us the home was kept clean and staff followed good infection prevention and control practices.
Staff told us they had clear information about infection prevention and control procedures in the service. They said regular infection control audits were completed, with the outcome and actions shared with all staff. Staff confirmed they had completed infection control training. The registered manager told us action had been taken to replace flooring in bedrooms that posed an infection control risk and additional infection control audits had been implemented.
We observed staff following infection prevention control procedures. Staff wore personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed and disposed of it safely. The home was clean and PPE was available for staff throughout the building. Areas of flooring that posed an infection control risk had been replaced since the last inspection.
The provider had an infection prevention and control policy, which was regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current guidance. The management team completed infection control audits to ensure staff were putting the procedures and their training into practice. Records demonstrated actions identified in the audits had been addressed and improvements made, for example, actions to ensure all staff completed refresher training.
