Manor House Residential Home is a care home. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as a single package under one contractual agreement. We carried out our site assessment on 27 February 2024 and finished on 1 March 2024. We looked at 10 quality statements: Safeguarding, Safe environment, Safe and effective staffing, Infection prevention and control, Medicines Optimisation, Freedom to speak up, Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion, Partnerships and communities, Governance, management and sustainability and Learning, improvements and innovation. At the time of this assessment there were 17 people living at the home. The provider had made improvements to the premises, décor and cleanliness. Action was needed to ensure bedroom fire doors operated effectively to protect people in the event of a fire. We requested an action plan from the provider. There were enough trained and competent staff to meet people’s needs and protect them from abuse. People were supported with their medicines safely. There was a culture of speaking up without fear of detriment and acted on. Staff were empowered to engage, and promoted equality, diversity and inclusion. The registered manager and staff worked in partnership with a variety of health and social care professionals to promote people’s well-being. Feedback was acted on and any lessons learnt was shared with staff. Improved quality assurance systems were used effectively to monitor all aspects of quality and safety within the service. At our last inspection, the service was rated requires improvement and there were breaches of regulation. At this assessment we found improvements had been made and the provider was no longer in breach of those regulations. However, further action was needed in relation to fire safety.
