All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this on-site, announced assessment on 6 June 2024. We found the practice had not met all regulations. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. Following the inspection improvements were made to enhance risk identification and mitigation. For example, recruitment procedures were updated to ensure they reflected current legislation, improvements were made to clinical records and safeguarding processes were put in place. The practice is in Crawley and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children and NHS care and treatment to children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 2 dental hygienists, 1 periodontist, 1 practice manager and 1 receptionist. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. The provider was not complying with all regulations. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the quality statement section of the report. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who spoke highly of the service they received. One person told us 'I cannot fault them ' absolutely brilliant.' They went on to explain that their teeth had been in a poor state when they first went to the practice and how pleased they were with their treatment saying they had 'the full range of expertise for complex work.'

People told us that they were always given explanations before any treatment and that the dentists discussed their options with them.

We found people were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed.

We found the provider had systems to assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.
