Governance, management and sustainability
Managers did not always submit statutory to external organisations as required. We identified 8 occasions where safeguarding incidents were not reported to the CQC as required by regulation 18 of the CQC (Registration) Regulations 2009 (Part 4) - (Notification of other incidents). However, staff dealt with the incidents by recording them on their incident report forms and contacting the LA safeguarding. Following our feedback, staff begun notifying CQC about all allegations of potential abuse. Managers could account for staff performance and took correct actions when concerns were identified. Staff managed data and records appropriately, in line with the requirements of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
There were systems in process to support leaders with monitoring staff performance, for example through supervisions and appraisals. There was policy to ensure that data is treated with integrity and confidentiality.
