Well-led
Systems and processes were in place to ensure effective oversight of the service. The registered manager completed regular auditing to make improvements and identify any shortfalls.

Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
During the inspection the registered manager was open about the past difficulties the service had experienced. They were honest and open about the current situation and it was evident they had worked hard to improve the service and to provide people with safe, effective and person centered care. Processes were in place to include people who were significant to those receiving care. A relative told us, "I can go directly to [Registered manager]. They are open and honest with me about situations concerning [person] and their care."
Staff told us they would value more team meetings to discuss any concerns they may have. Staff felt the manager was caring. However, not all staff felt the registered manager had time to spend with them Individually . One staff member told us, “[Registered manager] is approachable and good listener but when [registered manager] is here [registered manager] is usually busy in the office.” Another staff member said, “The manager is always in the service majority of the time but seems to always be stuck in meetings.”

Governance, management and sustainability
Systems and processes were in place to ensure effective oversight of the service. The registered manager audited records and documents to ensure information was kept up to date, factual and person centred.
The registered manager described the improvements they had made within the service. This included how they had worked with the staff team, to make sure they all understood their role and what was expected of them. They had developed a relationship with people's family and friends, and had included them in changes within the service. The registered manager understood the need to have an open and transparent culture within the service.

Learning, improvement and innovation
Staff told us information was shared. One staff member told us, “The manager does inform us of changes.” When things went wrong, staff apologised and gave people honest information and suitable support. Any use of restrictions on people’s freedom, was recorded and the registered manager reviewed use of restrictions to look for ways to reduce them.
Systems and processes were in place to gain feedback from staff, relatives and people. The registered manager had an overview of the information shared within these documents to ensure actions were taken and good practice was identified and shared. The provider had an accident and incident policy. This clearly set out the requirements for reporting people's incidents, as well as staff or relative accidents. Incident and accidents were regularly audited to look for any trends or patterns.
