Its specialisms include support for those living with dementia. Staff told us they enjoyed working at the home, and were able to describe the steps they would take to ensure people were safeguarded from abuse or harm. Staff described a learning culture, and steps had been taken since the last inspection to improve. Regular team meetings and supervisions with staff took place, and the management team were approachable. Staff were able to describe how they ensure peoples risk assessments were reviewed and any changes were implemented. All of the staff we spoke with felt valued and supported. People told us they felt safe and well cared for. Processes in place confirmed a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Care plans were now detailed, reviewed and outcomes were met for people. There was a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary team involvement to ensure people had access to the care they needed when they needed it. Audit systems and tools were now being utilised to check for any gaps in service provision and action plans were being compiled to ensure these gaps were addressed by the most appropriate person. We observed a clean and tidy home. Staff treated people kindly and interacted with them throughout the duration of our onsite assessment. We observed staff using equipment correctly, and discreetly supporting people with personal care needs such as feeding. We observed diversional therapies being followed by staff for those people who became heightened in mood.
