Governance, management and sustainability
Staff feedback was positive about the management and support they received to do their job effectively. One member of staff told us, “The management is very supportive, they always encourage us to talk to them and that the door is always open if we have any complaints.” Staff were aware of the hierarchy for who to talk to if they had a complaint. The registered manager ensured that regular staff meetings were carried out and we saw evidence of this within the team meeting minutes. A health professional told us, “I have not had to [make a complaint] but trust their process if I ever did.” Staff also told us their paperwork had improved since the registered manager was in post and they have regular supervisions and meetings. The registered manager involved staff and people to give feedback via surveys.
Governance systems and processes were in place. Regular audits were carried out and senior management carried out a yearly compliance audit of the service and developed an action plan which the registered manager was responsible for completing. Maintenance concerns were logged and followed up by the registered manager and we observed this during our on-site assessment with the maintenance team on site.
