People felt empowered to make their views known and felt listened to by the staff and registered manager. People and their relatives told us, their care was joined up and they were able to see a GP or other health and social care professionals when they needed to. People told us they had choice and control over their lives.

Staff were aware of how they should ensure any information which suggests people maybe unfairly treated or discriminated against, should be supported immediately. Staff told us, they did not feel anyone was being unfairly treated at the service.

Care records evidenced the support each person required to ensure they received care and treatment without delay. For example, if an individual’s weight should fall below an acceptable limit, prompt action was taken to refer the person for professional support and advice.
