Well-led – we looked at 1 quality statement. This means we looked for evidence that the service had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. At our last inspection we rated this key question good. At this assessment we did not assess all quality statements within this key question. The overall rating for this key question remains good based on the findings at the last inspection. This meant the service was consistently managed and well-led. Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

Governance, management and sustainability

The service had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. They used these to manage and deliver good quality, sustainable care, treatment and support. They act on the best information about risk, performance and outcomes, and share this securely with others when appropriate. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities and knew where to find guidance and seek support. All staff spoken with said the management team were approachable and supportive. This also included seniors, nurses and unit managers. Staff used an electronic care and support system to assess, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of people’s care, support and interventions. There were effective quality assurance systems in place which were used to identify and drive improvements. The management team had implemented relevant quality frameworks based on recognised standards and best practices to improve equity in experiences and outcomes for people.
